The Product Owner and The Development team - will be demonstrating the progress that has been made with both Visual Objects 2.8 and the Vulcan.NET project. They will be available for you to ask questions and you can make requests but we make no promises to grant those requests :-)

Robert van der Hulst - is an independent software developer from the Netherlands. He is also member of the current Visual Object Development Team and responsible for large portions of the VO 2.8 product, in particular the IDE, Compiler, Linker and Runtime. He has spoken on numerous user group meetings and conferences in the United States, UK, Germany, Norway, Sweden and of course the Netherlands.
Robert is also the author of the third-party products Vo2Jet, Vo2Ado and Vo2Btrieve, class libraries that allow VO developers to connect to other data sources from within their VO applications. He is sometimes nick-named 'Mr Data', because he specializes in Data Access solutions.

Paul Piko - was previously a Systems Analyst working on mainframe databases for one of the major oil companies, Paul started a software consultancy over ten years ago. He has been working on financial, medical and agricultural database software. Paul was president of the Clipper User Group (Melbourne), contributor to two books about Clipper and author of articles published in VO/Clipper journals. He has shared his experience with other developers at numerous conferences in Australia, US and Europe. He is creator of the VO Productivity Pack and joined the VO development team in 2002.

Don Caton - has been programming since the early 1980’s, and has spoken at numerous Clipper and VO developer conferences in the USA, Germany, France, the Netherlands and Australia. Based in South Florida, he was involved in the development of CISComm and FlexFile 3.0 and the author of NewsHound, a newsgroup reader add-in for Microsoft Outlook.
Having previously worked on the porting of VO 2.6 to MSC 7.0, Don is now the member of the Vulcan.NET development team, responsible for the overall architecture of the product as well as the compiler, the core runtime, the macro compiler, the database classes and the Visual Studio integration packages.

Chris Pyrgas - started computer programming at a very early age, primarily focusing on real-time graphics presentations, using Borland Pascal and Assembly language. He entered the Visual Objects world with version 1.0d and has since developed and still maintains several VO applications, ranging from small-sized to fairly large ones.
Chris has been working with Vulcan.NET since the very first beta stages of the compiler and is the author of VulcanIDE, a full featured IDE specifically written for and in Vulcan.NET.

Michael Fischer - has worked with the Xbase languages since dBase II became available for CP/M. He was an assistant to the chair of business management studies/scientific information of the University of Wuppertal, and in 1996, he founded the management consultant firm of Fischer & Consultants (F&C). This enterprise has developed, and continues to develop, high-end Client/Server projects and consults with software houses and IT departments, who are converting to Client/Server and Internet/Intranet solutions. Software development and consulting are based on the Application Factory, a Client/Server RAD-tool written in VO.
Michael was one of the first conference speakers on CA-Visual Objects and continues to lecture on Programming, Windows Development, Management Information Systems (MIS), Software Engineering, and SQL at conferences throughout Europe and the USA as well as being frequently published in the Software Development Techniques (SDT).

Ivo Wessel - works as a Software Consultant in Berlin (Germany). Ivo has worked with Clipper since 1984, using and teaching CA-Visual Objects since the very first releases in 1993. He is mainly concerned with the design of user interfaces in VO applications and is participating in developer conferences for many years. He has written regular articles for the VO magazine "Software Development Techniques". Ivo has published three books on Visual Objects (one is translated into English), one about GUI Design and one on learning C#.

Meinhard Schnoor-Matriciani - studied computer sciences in Kiel, Germany. He has been programming since 1982 in different languages: Pascal, Fortran, Cobol, Assembler, Clipper, Visual Objects, C# and now Vulcan.NET. A Clipper head since 1985 and a VO’er since the first version. Meinhard has spoken at more than 22 international conferences since 1995 in Germany, Netherlands, the USA and Australia on mostly VO related topics. He is a leader in many advanced topics such as scripting, the VO repository, COM and buffered server techniques. He is currently working as a Partner of Fischer & Consultants, the vendor of the application factory.

Willie Moore - is a Network Technical Manager for AT&T, Inc located in Birmingham, Alabama. He is also the owner of wmConsulting. He has been programming in CA-Clipper since Summer ’87 and has been producing applications in CA-Visual Objects since release 1.0. Fabrice Foray - first started with computers using a TRS-80 with Basic and Assembler. From there it was a quick move to dBase II, and then to Clipper in 1987. Since then, Fabrice has moved through Visual Objects in all its versions and has now moved to Vulcan.NET. For the last 20 years Fabrice has been teaching computer languages in a French vocational school, with courses on C/C++ language, UML modelling, and network programming. The .NET world has appeared in his courses for the last 3 years.

Mike Pitcher - is an electrical engineer who started programming in IBM’s Assembler in the mid 1960’s. He has subsequently used PL/1, COBOL and RPG on successions of “big mothers”. His first exposure to smaller machines was programming the IBM Series/1. He has been creating systems for PCs since he discovered dBaseII. One of his systems (the one that runs his local horticultural show) has existed in dBaseII, dbaseIII, Clipper Summer 87, Clipper 5.2, Clip-4-Win, VO1 and VO2.
Mike ended his first career with a number of director level IT management positions but has now returned to his first love by joining the family software house where there are now three Pitchers and two generations of VO programmers. Mike has presented at VO gatherings in Europe and the US.

Joachim Dürr - is System Consultant at Sybase iAnywhere and responsible for consulting and trainings of the Advantage Database Server (ADS) in the EMEA region. Before he entered iAnywhere's pre-sales team he built and lead the European ADS support group. Joachim is a regular speaker at international conferences around the world, author of several articles in various German developer magazines and co-author of the book "Datenbanken mit Delphi" (databases with Delphi).
